Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 NIV | | Stuff Rick Wrote - A Christmas Message | | We maintain two audio discussion groups which are hosted on Yahoo Groups. One is 70sAudioMindset and the other is BudgetAudio. You are invited to join either or both. On Christmas 2006, Rick posted this message to both of them, then decided to put it here in Truth Seekers. | Merry Christmas everybody.
I hope that most will take some quiet moments to consider the reason for this season. Here in the USA, it is a secular Federal holiday and is rooted in the understanding of the Judaeo-Christian heritage and how that is reflected in the basis of our legal system and culture.
Untold millions around the world recognize it as more than that... as a time to reflect on the birth of Jesus and how his life, message, and death impacts our life and those whose lives are important to us.
I understand that everyone does not agree and may think that is a bunch of hooey.. That's ok. Best wishes for a happy holiday season to you.
Regardless of one's beliefs, the Christmas /New Year season provides a time to enjoy family and other human relationships which are more important than material things, creature comforts and other cares of this life. We all come into this world with nothing and will leave it with nothing. At the end of our lives, not much matters other than how we have impacted the lives of others.
Lets all endeavor this coming New Year to be better people, better citizens, better dads/moms, better husbands/wives, better friends, better co-workers, more forgiving and less judgmental with all our dealings with others.
My mom died spring, 2006 after a couple years of living post-stroke(s). That situation with all it's related problems, heartaches and troubles greatly impacted my ability to bring our manuals business up to speed in the way and timeliness as I envisioned. Actually, that is putting it mildly.
The most important thing it did was help to solidify in my mind, the fact that relationships and how we conduct our lives in relation to others is the most important indicator of who and what we are as human beings.
Over the next few days, do something nice and totally unexpected for someone... even better if it is someone you don't particularly like.

Our mistaken self-identity may cause us to not believe it or act like it, but Jesus is still... The Lord!
