6/9/2007 Rick Stout resurrected the Phase Linear History Reference Site. In 2006, he informed Anthony Young (the original author) that he had the site files and would resurrect the site as soon as time allowed. Anthony lost the domain name to internet scavengers and then discovered his original files were also lost on a dead hard drive. Due to continuing elderly parent problems and other things, it took a year to fulfill the promise. The original site format and theme was abandoned due to some missing support files. A slight different navigation structure was implemented. Also, a few minor changes were made to this page and the links page. 1/23/2004 Added a new Phase Linear Ads page. First up is an ad for the model 700 amplifier from the January 1971 issue of AUDIO. 12/31/03 Corrected the introduction date of the 700B on the index page, and added a new repair contact on the Repairs page. 12/15/03 Replaced the poor photo of the A60 amp shown on the Pro Series page with a better color shot. 08/10/2003 Added a new repair facility contact on the Repairs page, Sound Idea, Inc. in Arlington, Texas. 05/10/2003 Added photos of the 200 B amplifier. 02/16/2003 Updated several URLs on the Links page. 12/23/2002 Added the Model 180 Dimensional Sonic Localizer to the Components page. 11/22/2002 Added the X20 Crossover to the Components page. 11/07/2002 Added a new Reviews page, starting with the 400 amplifier tested by Audio and Stereo Review magazines. Numerous factual errors have been corrected, thanks to input from Dean, Phase Linear's former service manager. You can see his website listed on the links page. 11/02/2002 An additional image of the 7000 cassette deck was added to the Components page. 10/05/2002 Much sharper and detailed photos of the D-500 amplifier were added to the D-500 page. 9/20/2002 Replaced the rather poor photo of the Model 7000 Cassette deck with a much sharper image, which shows the front panel in the open position, revealing the extensive controls. 9/1/2002 Added image and description of the Model 220 Decoder to the Components section of the website. 8/21/2002 The page of this website that illustrated and described the Phase Linear CD was removed at the request of the vendor because they had received vulgar email from angry individuals who did not get an instantaneous response to their demand for information. Now a valuable resource of information is gone. However, the vendor said he list it on eBay, under Audio Components (type in Phase Linear and click search) so check there from time to time if you wish to get a copy. 8/17/2002 Replaced the photo of the Pro 700 with a better image. Expanded the Speakers page to include the P Series: P580, P560 and P530; thanks to Terry Pennington at Rane Corporation. 8/09/2002 After numerous inquiries from Phase Linear owners regarding repairs to their equipment, I have found a superb Phase Linear repair technician in William Green of Circle Stereo. Click on the new Repairs page to learn more about the work he can do for you. 8/05/2002 Added two photos of the A15 Pro Series amplifier. Added a new link to the Rane Corporation, which was formed by several engineers and employees of Phase Linear before the Edmonds, Washington facility closed. Rane Corp. makes professional audio equipment. 8/01/2002 Added a photo of the very rare A60 Pro Series amplifier. Also, a new link to a Phase Linear website created by Michael Bierig of Germany. Michael supplied me the above named photo of the A60 amp. 7/06/2002 Added Andrew R. Lear's Audiophile Homepage to the Links page. A great site to learn the state of the art in stereo amplification and other audiophile subjects. 6/23/2002 Added the new specification manual listing all Phase Linear components manufactured between 1970 and 1983, compiled by William Jahn. 6/8/2002 Added the Lansing Heritage link to the Links page (under Vintage Links of Interest), covering the history and legacy of James B. Lansing and the companies that carry on his work and products today. 6/5/2002 ANNOUNCEMENT! In the first week of June 2002, The Phase Linear Reference Site was ranked No. 2 in Google, Alta Vista and Yahoo! in a search using "Phase Linear." That will make it easier for vintage Phase Linear enthusiasts not only to find the site, but access information about the component they are interested in. 4/23/2002 Added photo of P3800 pre-amplifier. 4/22/2002 Added photo of DRS 400 amplifier. 4/20/2002 Added the DRS Series page under Amplifiers section and moved the DRS 250 Integrated Amplifier from the Components page to the new DRS page. Changed the photo of the 5100 Series Two tuner. 4/15/2002 Added the What's New page to the website so frequent visitors can see changes and additions to the site. Added a photo and description of the 3500 Series Two pre-amplifier to the 3000 Series Pre-Amplifier page and added a photo and description of the 1400 Series Two Equalizer to the Components page. 2/20/2002 Corrected the spelling of Edmonds (it had been Edmunds), Washington on the opening page. Deleted a photo and description of the so-called Pro 400 amplifier; thanks to Dean for the correction. Added a separate Pro Series amplifier page. 11/22/2001 Added Speakers page describing the Andromeda system. 10/18/2001 The Phase Linear Reference Site is launched. |
