Price Codes and Shipping Rate Charts
There are basically NO CLICK TO BUY BUTTONS ON THIS SITE. If you were on a Manuals List that had Price Codes and somehow didn't notice, YOU CAN Buy It Now With Paypal (RIGHT NOW) without contacting us first. Otherwise, you need to see Simple Purchasing Info
For you easily frustrated folks... Chill out! If you find a manual listed that you want, but there is no Price Code, you will not be able to wander all over the site and eventually find something that has not yet been made available.

We hope you will spend some time checking out our site, BUT PLEASE... don't keep looking for prices if it isn't listed along with the manual model number. All that accomplishes is you getting frustrated and sending us nasty letters. We have done many stupid things, but we're not so dumb as to intentionally hide prices just to get you upset.

IT IS NOT simply a matter of typing them in. If it was that easy, it would have been done ages ago. We are doing all we can do to finish the cataloging /descriptive work so Price Codes can be listed with each manual. So, until then... NO PRICE CODE?? - GO TO Simple Purchasing Info in our Terms/Purchasing section.
AN EASY WAY TO USE THIS PAGE is to open it in a separate browser window. You can then easily switch to it as you browse our site. If you then use the horizontal Prices Codes Menu (light red background), each chart will move to the top of your browser window when you click the links.

Price Codes Chart "G" = General Prices
"G" (General Price Codes) items are typically side-stapled (most factory originals are this way) with fiber reinforced tape applied to spine. If folded pullout pages are in the original, they are in ours also. We may have assigned "G" Price Codes to:
1 - ANY TYPE OF LITERATURE (manuals, brochures, schematics, special items, etc.)
2 - ANY STYLE OF CONSTRUCTION (stapled/taped spine, folded pullout pages or not, folded/center stapled, loose sheets, etc)
3 - ANY TYPE COVERS (b/w, color, plain paper, card stock, none, etc.).

In order to drastically simplify shipping calculations, we have developed these Shipping Rates charts. They are a rounded off combination of many factors. The precise mailing cost stamped on your package may be more or less than you paid. More info immediately below.

* USA/CANADA SHIPPING NOTE:

These notes accompany the G Price Codes, but the same basic conventions apply to the other Price Codes charts as well. See them for additional information. If you don't understand, contact us.

G1 - G21 shows Default Shipping Method as regular FC (First Class) rates  before the /(slash) and PM (flat-rate Priority Mail Document mailer) after the /(slash). We automatically quote and use First Class rates, but you may specify PM (flat-rate Priority Mail document mailer or even PM Box (flat-rate Priority Box mailer) if you want to pay the extra amount. Depending on the particular item, very small items with G1 - G4 or G5 may be folded and mailed in ordinary business envelope. If so, we try to mention it in the Item's Description, but in some cases may fail to do so.
G22 - G32 shows Default Shipping Method as PM (flat-rate Priority Mail Document mailer). (13oz or more is automatically Priority Mail by USPS regulations). You may specify PM Box (flat-rate Priority Box mailer) if you want to pay the extra amount.
G33 - G35 shows Default Shipping Method as PM Box (flat-rate Priority Box mailer) before the /(slash). (Too large for PM flat-rate document mailer).

All Canada shipments

These same basic conventions apply to the other Price Codes charts also. See them for additional information. If you don't understand, contact us.

G1 - G21 shows USA First Class rates before the /(slash) which we also use for LPA (Letter Post Air - Airmail) to Canada.
G22 - G28 shows USA PM (Priority Mail) rates which we also use for LPA (Letter Post Air - Airmail) to Canada.
G29 - G35 shows USA PM (Priority Mail) Box rates before the /(slash) and LPA (Letter Post Air - Airmail) to Canada after the /(slash).

** INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING NOTE (Not USA/Canada):

These notes accompany the G Price Codes, but the same basic conventions apply to the other Price Codes charts as well. See them for additional information. If you don't understand, contact us.

You must decide whether to use LPA  (Letter Post Air - Airmail) or PMI (flat-Rate PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL) .

Note 1
G1 - G21 shows regular LPA  (Letter Post Air - Airmail) rates before the /(slash). Some of the very small items may be folded and mailed in an ordinary business envelope. PMI (flat-Rate PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL) rates are shown after the /(slash).
G22 - G26 shows rates for regular LPA  (Letter Post Air - Airmail) or PMI (flat-Rate PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL).
G27 - G32 shows regular LPA Airmail rates before the /(slash) and PMI rates after the /(slash) for countries that accept it.
When actual LPA  (Letter Post Air - Airmail) rates are near or exceed $11.00, we automatically switch to PMI (flat-Rate PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL).

Note 2
G33 - G35: Approximately 300 pages is about all that will fit into a $9.00 flat-rate Priority Mail International document mailer. Shipments larger than about 300 pages require that it be mailed at regular Air Mail rates which will be higher than flat-rate PMI. Or it can be shipped as a parcel (boxed) which is substantially higher (contact us). If your "300+ pages" consists of 2 or more items, they may be able to be divided between a couple of PMI document mailers. As an example, the G34 18.00 LPA/12.00 PMI + 12.00 PMI is meant to indicate LPA Airmail rate before the /(slash) and 1st flat-rate Global Priority Mailer + 2nd flat-rate Global Priority Mailer after the /(slash). If you don't understand this, just contact us.

*** APPROXIMATE PAGE COUNT IS PROVIDED AS A REFERENCE ONLY NOTE:

These notes accompany the G Price Codes, but the same basic conventions apply to the other Price Codes charts as well. One side of a 8.5" x 11"  sheet = 1 page ( whether printed on not). Both sides of an 11" x 17" sheet = 4 pages. Our purpose in providing the 'Approximate Page Count' column, is to give a general indication of how many pages are associated with that price code. We think you should have some idea if a manual is 4 or 400 pages before you buy.

The vast majority of our items will be very close to the indicated number. BUT, for various reasons, any item might have somewhat more or less pages than indicated by the charts. In a few cases, the actual number of printed pages may be considerably less than indicated by the charts. In no event are we trying to pull a 'fast one' on you. If you have some reason to believe we have charged you too much for a particular item, let us know. Perhaps we made a mistake (but unlikely).

FIRST EXAMPLE:  Our description for a particular manual may say "88 total pages (18 intentionally blank)". The 88 means there are 88 total 8.5" x 11" pages sides (whether printed or not) AND gives us a shipping weight (which is what allowed us to develop these charts). Often, that manual will be priced using the G16 Price Code (70 +/-  pages) instead of G20 (90 +/-). In cases like this, it does give you a precise count of printed pages and you are paying only for the exact number of printed pages.

SECOND EXAMPLE:  If something about a particular manual makes it more difficult to print or construct, we may have assigned an 'in between' price code that falls somewhere between the total number of pages and the actual number of printed pages. Using the same criteria as the first example, lets say the Price Code is G18. In that case you are paying a premium (over normal) reflecting the added complexity. If that same example manual has a price code of say... G12. That would normally indicate that manual is being priced at a discount from normal prices. The most likely reason would be that there is something about it that we consider sub-standard, or flawed, or incomplete, etc. We might apply a discounted price even if ours is a perfect reproduction of a factory provided reprint that isn't good in our opinion. Those items will normally have something in the "Description" column that indicates or plainly explains it.

THIRD EXAMPLE:  A center-folded, center-stapled manual is 24 total pages plus (2) single-side printed 11" x 17" schematic inserts. The inserts are 8 total pages with 4 printed pages and 4 not printed pages. Our description will probably show "32 total pages (4 intentionally blank)". The price code will normally be CF6 which shows 28 +/- pages and again, you are paying for the exact number of printed pages.

Remember... APPROXIMATE PAGE COUNT IS PROVIDED AS A REFERENCE ONLY.

Best efforts Full Color Reproductions printed off premises on very High Quality color printing equipment. Many (not all) Full Color Brochures  may (depending on design of original) be extraordinarily good looking. They are almost always better than scans printed on laser or inkjet printers and often extremely better. Some items may be one or two colors only, but would be significantly impaired if not printed on color equipment. For a variety of reasons, your brochure may be printed on 90lb card stock or a more normal weight paper.

Ordinary (but best efforts) black and white photocopy, usually constructed the same as the Full Color Reproduction (if available) except always on normal weight paper stock. We may use BPC codes for a copy of a multi-color original item that for various reasons does not significantly benefit by printing with color equipment (wasteful expense). Smaller items may be folded and mailed in ordinary envelope. Larger items usually mailed flat (not folded).

* S14 - S22 reflect page counts that are mostly single side printed sheets which doubles the total page count and hence higher shipping.

** Smaller items  are typically folded and mailed in an ordinary business envelope with larger items shipped flat.

In order to drastically simplify shipping calculations, we have developed these Shipping Rates charts. They are a rounded off combination of many factors. The precise mailing cost stamped on your package may be more or less than you paid. Further info here.

(Coming Soon) Price Codes Chart "EF" = Electronic Files (Downloads, CDROMs, PDFs, etc.)
"EF" (Electronic Files Price Codes) items are any type of electronic file available to be delivered via email attachment, or download link from the internet, CDROMs, etc. They may be User Manuals, Service Manuals, Color (or b/w) Sales Brochures, or any other type of miscellaneous items. We do have several thousands of items in electronic format. Electronic files distribution is a whole other business model than what we have been doing with our high quality printed manuals. For that reason, we are not yet prepared to make very many of them available. But in some limited circumstances, we are, hence this Price Code chart. We will do more to develop this chart as soon as possible. Unless we have it listed in our manuals catalog, please don't waste your time or ours asking for electronic distribution.

Price Codes Chart "OL" = Factory Original Literature Items (Not Reproductions)
SHIPPING COST NOTE:  The Price Codes with shipping costs for our Reproduction Manuals do have a direct relation to the actual size of the item. With Factory Original Manuals and Brochures, the price has some (but much less) to do with the actual size of the item and it's particular shipping costs. We are not interested in making a profit on shipping costs. We don't know any simple way to develop a shipping chart to correspond in a meaningful way with the Price Codes.

So we have decided to simply charge ZERO SHIPPING TO USA/Canada customers. The Price Code you see is the total cost to your door.

Likewise, we don't know any simple way to develop a chart for International customers that would have a meaningful relationship to the Price Codes. Therefore ALL INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS MUST CONTACT US VIA EMAIL FOR SHIPPING COST... unless you wish to use $11.00 flat-rate Global Priority Mail (to countries that accept PMI. Let us know what country the item will ship to and we will send you the cost.
By far, the most common binding method (construction style) of original Service Manuals is side-stapled with plain paper covers (visible staples). The second most common is probably center-folded and center-stapled. After that, side-stapled with some type of additional cover stock that may wrap around the spine and across the back side. This additional cover stock is sometimes printed in color (especially latter 70s Pioneer).

Actual shipping costs could range from as little as $1.00 for the lightest item going to the cheapest rate zone to $15.00 for the heaviest item going to the highest rate zone. We estimate most items would be about $6.00 - $10.00.
